DESCRIPTION
We require a Fabrication Draughtsperson to work full time in our Design Office in our Centre for Design and Manufacturing Centre of Excellence at our head office in Mallow, Co. Cork. The expected duration of this fixed term contract is 12 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce detailed models and drawings on CAD software of components and assemblies from supplied information, to the required standards
- Generate and/or modify drawings and design documentation
- Be familiar with all document control procedures
- Research information on the Internet and use catalogues or Internet sites to select standard components in design
- Provide assistance to individual project groups in specific areas of documentation and administration, for example, project specifications and documentation, etc.
- Assist in dimensional measurement studies
- Assist in prototype builds and analysis
REQUIREMENTS
The person;
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years relevant design experience. (not required but preferred)
- Knows fundamental concepts, practices and procedures within an engineering technical discipline
- Appreciation of drawing standards and CAD software
- Ability to produce accurate 3D models and drawings based on instructions from project and/or senior engineers
- Observation and understanding of basic engineering practices and procedures
- A capacity to adhere to advice from more senior design engineers
Equipment used within role:
- Software packages: 2D AutoCAD and Solidworks and Navisworks
- Previous experience in Solidworks or Inventor required to qualify for this role
Education Requirements;
One of the following will be essential
- Third Level Design/CAD Degree or Diploma
- Similar relevant degree
- Experience in detailing fabrication or steel work
- Experience as a fabricator
