DESCRIPTION
We are hiring anĀ Apprentice and Trainee Co-ordinatorĀ based in our head office inĀ Mallow, Co. Cork.
This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the apprenticeship programme and development of our traineeship offering, ensuring its successful implementation, and facilitating the professional growth and development of apprentices and trainees.
This role involves coordinating training and development activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing support to apprentices and trainees to ensure their successful progression and completion of the programme.
The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including senior leaders, managers, mentors, educational institutions and the apprentices themselves.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Programme coordination: develop and implement comprehensive apprenticeship and traineeship programmes in collaboration with senior leaders, department managers, supervisors and training providers including rotations and co-ordination of the programmes
- Co-ordinate and develop the recruitment, selection, and on-boarding process for apprentices and trainees.
- Liaise with educational institutions and local schools to attract potential candidates
- Conduct research on industry best practices to enhance the effectiveness of the programmes
- Organise and schedule training sessions, workshops, and assessments
- Compliance and administration: Ensure all apprenticeship and traineeship programmes comply with relevant legislation and industry standards
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all apprentices and trainees
- Prepare reports on programme progress, outcomes, and areas for improvement
- Support and mentorship: provide ongoing support, guidance, and mentorship to apprentices and trainees
- Address any issues or concerns that may arise during the training period
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Stakeholder collaboration: liaise with training providers, industry bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality training programmes
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors to integrate apprentices and trainees into their respective departments effectively
- Performance monitoring and evaluation: Monitor the progress and performance of apprentices and trainees through regular assessments and feedback sessions.
- Assist in resolving any performance-related issues
- Identify areas where additional support or training may be required
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and make recommendations for improvements
- Training and development: design and deliver training programmes to enhance the skills and competencies of apprentices and trainees
- Collaborate with internal departments and external trainers to organise workshops, seminars, and mentoring sessions
- Career development: Assist apprentices and trainees with career planning and development.
- Provide information on potential career pathways and opportunities for further education and training
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in a related field or relevant apprenticeship qualification
- Knowledge and technical ability of mechanical and electrical fields
- Strong organisational and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Experience in managing apprenticeship or traineeship programmes is preferred. Capability to provide guidance and support to apprentices and trainees
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with apprentices, trainees, senior leaders, managers and supervisors. Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
- Accuracy in documentation and proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, ERP systems and other relevant software
