Engineering Design Excellence Winners!

Winchburgh Wastewater Treatment Plant won the Engineering Design Excellence – Element Value Up to €10m category at the 2024 Irish Construction Excellence Awards at The Convention Centre Dublin.

We knew our entry, Winchburgh Wastewater Treatment Works – Leveraging Digital Delivery Expertise during the Global Pandemic was a special one, but to have this recognised by our industry peers is truly wonderful.

This unique project was delivered by our teams in Ireland and the UK as well as our delivery partners and supply chain during incredibly challenging times never before seen in our lifetime – through the Covid 19 pandemic.

Due to our early adoption of collaborative design through digital tools, we were primed to continue design work on the treatment plant remotely, progress milestones were delivered as expected – and in some cases even earlier.

We’re so proud to receive the award on behalf of all our colleagues who worked so diligently on every element of this project – and our colleagues in Scottish Water/ESD Joint Venture and Royal HaskoningDHV/Nereda wastewater treatment technology.
