EPS’ Declan O’Riordan won 'Green Leader of the Year Award'

About the Award

On Wednesday, April 8th 2015 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Dublin, the cream of Ireland’s green sector were recognised and celebrated in front of an audience of almost 450. Hosted by the hilarious Irish comedian Neil Delamere, 24 prestigious trophies were presented to the very best leaders and organisations within Ireland’s green industry.

The Green Awards honour those who work towards improving green issues. The ‘Green Leader of the Year Award’ is given to an individual who demonstrates leadership on green issues and solutions. It honours those who work hard and encourage others to take initiative with these issues and motivates them to bring about a positive change.

Declan has been to the forefront as Energy Manager for EPS in recent years. He has led and supported numerous initiatives and activities in the delivery of EPS’s Energy Strategy.

A highlight in Declan’s recent activities has been his coordination of the Better Energy Workplace Work Programme and the Better Energy Communities Programme, supported by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). In recent years these programmes have facilitated €1.2m in grant support to 57 community and voluntary groups throughout Ireland in partnership with EPS, Rusal LTD and Dawn Group.

As a committed company to the communities in which it operates, Declan has supported in no small way the vision of EPS in the delivery of sustainable water solutions, while also supporting our communities.

"This award is an excellent achievement for Declan and demonstrates his commitment, passion and leadership in his involvement in many Energy Initiatives that EPS has undertaken in recent years."
